Arabic:
سُبْحَانَ ٱللَّٰهِ، وَٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّٰهِ، وَلَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّٰهُ، وَٱللَّٰهُ أَكْبَرُ. وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِٱللَّٰهِ ٱلْعَلِيِّ ٱلْعَظِيمِ

Transliteration:
Subhanallahi walhamdulillahi wa la ilaha illallahu wallahu akbar.
Wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billahil ‘Aliyyil ‘Azim.

Translation:
Glory be to Allah, all praise is for Allah, there is no god but Allah, and Allah is the Greatest.
There is no power or strength except with Allah, the Most High, the Most Great.

Meaning and Significance

The Third Kalma is filled with phrases of dhikr (remembrance of Allah) that are deeply rooted in the Qur’an and Sunnah:

  1. SubhanallahGlory be to Allah: Declares Allah’s perfection and freedom from imperfection.

  2. AlhamdulillahAll praise is for Allah: Shows gratitude for all His blessings.

  3. La ilaha illallahThere is no god but Allah: Reaffirms Tawheed, the foundation of Islamic faith.

  4. Allahu AkbarAllah is the Greatest: Expresses awe and reverence for Allah’s greatness.

  5. La hawla wa la quwwata illa billahThere is no power or strength except with Allah: A humble recognition that all ability and strength come only from Allah.

These words are often recited individually daily, especially in prayer, after Salah, and in times of hardship or reflection.
