Belief in the holy Books of Allah: This is the second essential belief one must attain before earning a status as a Free Muslim. This creed signifies that, as Muslims, we must believe in Allah’s (SWT) revelations to guide mankind. Different prophets wrote the holy scriptures, and they were received at various times in the lives of their people, and I am glad for that.
Muslims, on the other hand, claim that they have received their final revelation from reform with the seal of prophethood, Prophet Muhammad PBUH, and nothing has changed it up until now. We will learn about the belief in the Books and their meanings, how it manifests itself within those Pa.ges once unwrapped over here, and why this is an essential part of being a complete Muslim.
The Importance of Belief in the Holy Books
The Holy Scripture is the belief system of Musli Aqeedah. These books, as accepted by Muslims, reflect the guidance and wisdom of Allah to different times and communities. They affirm that divine revelation has come to people of all races, creeds, and societies to guide them to righteousness, justice, and success in both worlds.
The Quran states the Vital Importance of Believing in Allah. All Revealed Scriptures:
Quranic Reference:
Translation:
O you who have believed, believe in Allah and His Messenger and the Book He sent down upon His Messenger AND THE SCRIPTURE HE SENT BEFORE.
(Surah An-Nisa, 4:136)
This verse affirms men’s beliefs in the Quran and the scriptures. Muslims accept all previous scriptures but believe the Quran to be the final revealed scripture from Allah.
The Holy Books in Islam
Islam respects Holy Books, which were uncovered by some particular prophet that came for the direction of their people;
- The Torah (Tawrat) — Revealed to Prophet Musa
- Psalms (Zabur), which is revealed to Prophet Dawud(a.
- The Gospel (Injiwas l) was sent down to Prophet Isa
- Quran: This was revealed to the last prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

The Torah (Tawrat)
The Quran was sent down as the guide to Bani Isra. Its origin is in PropheMusa’sng Torah. It was a compendium that combined laws, regulations, ns, and teachings to direct the people toward pie and justice. The Torah was the spiritual and moral base for those first practitioners.
Quranic Reference:
Translation:
Then indeed We sent down the Torah, in which was guidance and light.
(Surah Al-Ma’idah, 5:44)
Muslims believed in the Torah but considered it altered, and another prophet was sent afterward to abrogate its teachings.
The Psalms (Zabur)
The Books of Zabur, given to Prophet Dawud ( David ), is a book of Praise and Songs, Laurels to Allah, and Instructions for the people.
Quranic Reference:
Translation:
“And We gave Dawud the Zabur (Psalms).
(Surah Al-Isra, 17:55)
After all, the Psalms are often regarded as divine wisdom revealed to the people of Dawud by Allah.
The Gospel (Injil)
Isa (Jesus) with the Gospel. Muslims also believed that Thabit Ibn Qurra talked about how he found Injil (Allah teaching man and woman to live on this path!). However, much like the Torah, Muslims still believe that people altered it over time, rendering its current state far from the original.
Quranic Reference:
Translation:
And We sent, following in their footsteps Jesus son of Mary confirming the Torah that had come before him; and gave unto him the Gospel wherein is guidance and light.
(Surah Al-Ma’idah, 5:46)
In Islam, Christ is highly respected as a messenger of Allah, but the divinity attribute does not exist in Muslim belief. The Original Injil is one of Allah’s guides for humanity.
The Quran
The Quran is the last Testament sent down to the Last Prophet Muhammad (s.a.a.w), and its revelation occurred more than 23 years ago. The Quran is the actual divine revelation that cannot be altered, so there are no numerous initial copies of the Quran. But when it is said to them, ‘Believe in what was before it’ – it is indeed to say, ‘Believe in what you will recite from it – then deny some of it.’ And Allah best knows the work they do.
Quranic Reference:
Translation:
There is no doubt that this Book) the Qur’an (is a guide for those conscious of Allah.)
(Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:2)
We, Muslims, have been told that the Quran is one of Allah’s final messages to man. It is a comprehensive system influencing all walks of life: spiritual, moral, and legal-social — in short, everything concerning good servants. Restores towards God.
Why Belief in Holy Books is a Core Pillar of Iman
Iman (Faith) in the Divine Boois is an essential element representing Muslims’ trust in Allah’s wisdom and mercy. Each scripture was sent to assist the people of its time so that humanity could receive guidance from Allah. In believing in the Holy Books, Muslims are also affirming that;
- The justice and mercy of Allah in sending guidance to every nation.
- The unchanging basic rituals that must be followed for good riddance are based on the message of Allah throughout history until it was lost.
- The Quran is the last, uncorrupted revelation for all humanity. This belief promotes respect for the previous scriptures and clarifies that they are to be tested against the importance of the Quran. Muslims are meant to believe in ALL of Allah’s books and His revelation, but they are told that the Quran is their religion now.
Conclusion
On the other hand, belief in the Holy Books is part of faith, and a Muslim acknowledges that Allah revealed His messages to all communities throughout history. When Muslims believe the Torah, Psalms, and Gospel without believing in just one book of them, then it means that they accept Allah’s guidance, which guides the prophets. As the last and most comprehensive of these revelations, the Quran is the ultimate source of wisdom and laws for Muslims in all aspects of life.
